Adaptive Sports Coalition Benefits

Adaptive Sports Coalition Benefits

The Adaptive Sports and Recreation Coalition is a group of disabled sports organizations, partnering to enhance sports, recreation and leisure for individuals in Michigan. The goals of the Coalition are to:

  • Develop partnerships with each other
  • Publish a cooperative newsletter highlighting each group and a calendar of events
  • Consolidate mailing lists
  • Work cooperatively with the Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame
  • Provide information to therapists for new patients

The Coalition was originally created over five years ago with the vision of creating a network of small local sports groups who could benefit from the association with larger non-profit agencies and health care companies. The majority of the small local groups currently included in the Coalition do not have the ability or capacity to raise funds for themselves. Therefore this deficiency creates the possibility that the groups will not be able to continue their efforts in the community of raising awareness and allowing a venue for disabled athletes to compete in the sporting arena.

In return for a nominal annual membership fee per group ($100), your organization will receive the following benefits:

  • An opportunity for your organization to receive a special grant from the ADHOF at the end of the membership year;
  • Inclusion in all Coalition marketing material including the Coalition newsletter, ADHOF webpage dedicated to the Coalition, Annual Member Directory, and the Classified section of both the newsletter and website;
  • Opportunity to have the ADHOF mentoring program at your events including fundraising events;
  • Discount tickets to the ADHOF Induction Ceremony and Dinner.
