BILL HARDING
2003 Hall of Fame Inductee

For 35 years, Bill Harding's life has led him to the golf course. He began playing after an industrial accident resulted in the loss of his left leg and broke his right leg into pieces. Harding played in his very first Michigan Amputee Golf Tournament in 1968, taking home a second-place finish. Encouraged by that quick start and demonstrating the determination of all great athletes, Harding went on to establish himself as one of the nation's most prolific amputee golfers.

Golf has taken Harding across the country, as well as to foreign lands. He won the British National Championship and twice finished first in the Canadian National Tournament. His impressive accomplishments also include three National Senior Championships. He has also been a member of the International Senior Golf Team since 1999, and served as team captain in 2000.

In all, Harding has claimed the top prize in a staggering 45 golf tournaments.

When Harding isn't out on the course, he spends his time counseling new amputees in Arizona. He is the co-founder and president of the Arizona Amputee Golf Association, and he is a First Swing instructor for the National Amputee Golf Association.

Harding is also a former board member of the Michigan Amputee Golf Association as well as a former trustee for the National Amputee Golf Association.
